In order to fully embrace a lifestyle that supports good health, it is important to understand what is going on in the body and how lifestyle relates. At least, that is Erin’s philosophy. Being someone who likes to understand the background of recommendations, she pulls a lot of education into her nutrition counseling practice. Conversations about metabolism and biochemistry fascinate her. Because of this, she has found her specialty in diabetes management and sports nutrition, both of which are metabolically complex states. Erin will provide you the education and background needed to understand what is happening in your body and empower you to make the best decisions for you.
Erin understands that making lifestyle changes is hard. She is a firm believer in the idea of “choose your healthy”; there is no perfect or right diet for everyone. She will meet you where you are at and help you recognize your own limiting beliefs that are holding you back from achieving your potential. Erin considers herself a recovering perfectionist and has applied these very skills in her own life. This has led her to personal and professional accomplishments she never thought possible, including obtaining her diabetes specialist certification, running a marathon, and honing her own blogging and writing skills.
Outside of her professional life, Erin prefers to spend her days reading, writing, snuggling with her dogs, and visiting different breweries with her husband and their friends. She finds inspiration by participating in the local running community through run clubs and races. The energy is invigorating and there is an option for everyone!
My nutritionist, Erin Decker, is knowledgeable and supportive. She listens to my needs and helps me create a workable action plan. She has provided many great suggestions for choosing healthy meal and snack options.
Working with a nutritionist has helped immensely with my trying to balance a diabetic diet and a Gastroparesis diet. She has excellent recipes for both and I have made several and they are very good and meet my diet recommendations!
